When reviewing breast exams, the following tasks are commonly performed.
![]() | CAUTION! Do not use lossy compressed images when dictating mammography studies unless for reference purposes only. Ensure that the client is configured to retrieve original images when dictating mammography studies. |
To screen breast images
Search for a study or studies, or cycle the worklist or worklists that contain MG studies to be screened.
The images are automatically aligned to the right or left. If necessary, reposition them with the Pan tool.
Navigate through a comparative review sequence to display various views of the breast images and any available priors.
If present, show or hide mammography CAD SR markers.
As you step through the images, you may need to:
Scale images so that the breast fills the available viewport space.
Change their brightness and contrast with the Window Level tool.
Reverse black and white areas with the Invert tool.
Magnify all breast images that are in view (or stacked) and then move the images in a similar direction at current magnification, or magnify a section of an image to view areas of interest close-up with the Magnify Glass tool or the Zoom 1:1 Pixel tool.
Measure regions with the Markup Rectangle or Markup Ellipse tool, or measure the distance between two points with Markup Caliper.
Use the 3 cm rule (centered along the non-chest wall side of the displayed images) to help determine the general size of features in the image.
Dictate a report using IMPAX Reporting.
You can also dictate a report using TalkStation or another application.
Sign off a single report or multiple reports using IMPAX Reporting.
You can also use TalkStation to sign off reports.
![]() | Note: If you are viewing MG images and decide to navigate away from the images or start dictating without viewing all the images, a notification message appears indicating that not all of the images have been viewed (if this option is configured). |
