As the name suggests, the top toolbar appears at the top of the Image area, above the study images. You can set the top toolbar to always be displayed or to be hidden until you move the pointer toward it.

The left side of the top toolbar contains buttons such as Show Available Series, Active Target Mode, and Snapshot, along with four button menus: Window Level, Zoom, Geometry, and Markup. These buttons and button menus always appear on the top toolbar.
The buttons on the right side of the top toolbar are configurable by user or role based on modality (and body part, optionally). You or the PACS Administrator can add and remove buttons from this area by using the Customize dialog, Toolbar tab.
To select tools from a top toolbar button menu
If the button beside the menu
represents
the tool to activate, click it.
To activate another button in the menu, click the menu button.
From
the menu (see example image at right), click the button representing the
tool to activate.Except for the Reset tools, which get applied on selection but do not stay active, the selected button is displayed beside the menu button. The selected tool is active.
 | Tip: One tool per modality or body part can be defined as a default tool. It will be active whenever images from that modality are first displayed or redisplayed. |
To select top toolbar tools not located in button menus
Click the button representing the tool to activate.
