IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Administering IMPAX > Configuring printers and printing options > Configuring DICOM printers
Before enterprise users can print IMPAX images to a DICOM printer, you must configure the printer for use. If an existing printer of the same type already exists in the system, you can copy and modify its settings instead of having to fully define a new set of printer options.
To copy printer properties to a new printer
From the Configure drawer menu
, select Printers.
In the details panes, select the name of the printer to copy.
Under the list of installed printers, click Copy.
Modify the printer AE Title and Alias and, if necessary, network settings. Click Next.
Select the appropriate film sizes, types, and destinations for this printer. Click Next.
If required, define the printable area of this printer. Click Next.
If needed, change the print formats selected for each modality or station. Click Next.
Select the magnification options to make available when printing (if any). Click Next.
Select one or more taste look up tables to make available when printing. Click Next.
If required, add or remove logo files to make available to this printer. Click Next.
Optionally, select image simplification options for this printer.
Click Finish.
The printer appears in the list of available printers and can be selected by users. You can define print presets for it next.
