Defining printer names and network connections

When adding a printer or copying properties to a new printer, you must define the printer's names and network connections. When editing a printer's configuration, you can change some of these options.

To define printer names and network connections

  1. Add a printer or select a printer to copy.

    or

    Select a printer to edit.

  2. If adding a printer, from the Printer Type list, select the product name and model number that corresponds to the printer being added.

    If copying or editing a printer, you cannot change the printer type.

  3. In the AE Title field, type or modify the printer's DICOM AE title. Use a valid DICOM title, up to 16 characters long, that is not being used by any other DICOM device in the system.

    Do not include single quotation marks in the AE Title field.

  4. In the Host Name field, type or modify the printer's IP address (such as 10.237.21.2) or its common alias (such as RadPrinter1).

  5. In the Alias field, type or modify a descriptive name for the printer, up to 64 characters long.

  6. In the Port field, type or modify the port number used by this printer.

    The default value for new printers is 104.

  7. To allow color printing (if supported by this printer), select the Accepts Color Images checkbox.

  8. When finished, click Next or OK.
