Assigning operations to a permission

General permissions give general access to functionality, while study-based permissions give access to functionality for a given set of studies. When creating or editing a general or study-based permission, you must decide which operations that permission allows you to complete. For example, you can assign the Print Study operation to a permission, but clear the Advanced Search operation so that users can print but cannot use the Advanced Search feature.

Some operations consist of two parts: the action, such as printing, and the study status, such as dictated. So, you could select an operation that only allows printing of dictated studies.

To assign operations to a permission

  1. In the IMPAX Client Configure area, create a permission or edit an existing permission.

  2. From the Assign operations from list, select the type of operation to assign.

    • Administration Tools—Operations that affect user interactions with the Administration Tools. Available for General permissions only.

    • Audit Manager—Operations that affect user interactions with the IMPAX Audit Manager. Available for General permissions only.

    • PACS Client—Operations that affect user interactions with the IMPAX Client.

    • PACS Server—Operations that control whether you can use CLUI. Available for General permissions only.

  3. In the Operations list, select or clear the checkboxes next to the operations to allow or prevent.

Hover over an operation to see a tooltip explanation. A full reference of available operations is available in Operations reference.
