IMPAX for Technologists is used by technologists to access and provide quality control for medical images. Using a Technologist license gives access to all features of IMPAX for Technologists.
When configuring the IMPAX Client for use by technologists, the following tasks are often required.
Creating a role simplifies the task of providing all users of the Technologist license with the features they need. If appropriate, use the Technologist roles in the default role hierarchy—one for Radiology and one for Cardiology—shipped with IMPAX. These roles have default permissions and preferences that make configuration faster; otherwise, create the Technologist role in the most appropriate location.
2. Add new users into the technologist role
Technologists should have this as their primary role.
3. Assign the Technologist license to the technologist role
Licenses are assigned to roles; any users belonging to those roles can use those licenses. Assign the Technologist license to the technologist role, and if there are enough licenses, ensure that this is the default license for this role. Otherwise, add a more general license (such as the Enterprise or Clinician license), make it the default license, and have the technologists switch to the Technologist license when they need these functions.
4. Modify the permissions for the technologist role
The set of default roles in IMPAX also has default permissions appropriate to those roles. You can create different permissions, if required, for your specific workflows. Or, you can edit the permissions shipped with IMPAX. For example, if your technologists must fix unverified studies, create a study-based permission that permits access to unverified studies in its study access rule. 5. Add common quality control tools to the customizable area of the top toolbar or to the context toolbar
All of the common technologist tools appear by default in the top toolbar in the Image area. But, you can also choose to add these tools to the context toolbar (available with a right-click).
6. Configure the technologist monitors
Some technologists require specific monitor configurations. In the Configure area - Stations section, you can group the radiology stations, then configure them all at once (if the station containers are identical in terms of memory, monitory and image access, and so on).
