IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Administering IMPAX > Managing licenses
Licenses are assigned to roles, and each role inherits licenses from its parent roles. So users can access all licenses available to the primary and secondary roles they belong to. Once a license has been added to the Application Server, you can assign it to a role. You can then set a default license, which is used automatically when a user belonging to that role logs in. The user can select any other available license after he or she logs in.
To assign licenses to a role
From the Configure drawer menu
, select Users and Roles.
In the navigation pane, select a role.
In the details pane, expand the Licensing bar.
In the navigation pane, right-click the role and select Add License > Add license-type
where license-type is the type of license to add.
The license is added to the role and appears in the table. The changes are saved automatically when you switch context. For details about the information in the licensing table, refer to Viewing available and used licenses.
