Adding series to a link group

In general, series are linked to navigate them simultaneously. A link group is two or more connected coplanar series. In Auto Link mode (which is the default mode), you generally cannot add a series to a link group because IMPAX automatically links all coplanar series. In this mode, you can relink a previously unlinked series or link a series with a different frame of reference. In Manual Link mode, you must manually link each series by adding them to a link group.

To add a series to a link group

  1. Select a screen format that displays more than one series, if necessary.

  2. Manually synchronize each series to be linked with the active series by scrolling through the images until they correspond to the same anatomical region.

  3. To activate Link Edit mode, click Link Series. Link Series

Text appears at the top of each coplanar series indicating its link status.

    • Active series for linking—the highlighted series.

    • Click to unlink—a linked series.

    • Click to link—an unlinked coplanar series. You can add it to the link group.

    • 3D info does not match active series; Click to link—an unlinked series with a different frame of reference from the active series.

    Note:

    Note:

Changing the link mode (one of Auto Link, Manual Link, Navigate All, or Cross-study Link) or dragging from the Available Series palette deactivates Link Edit mode.

  4. Click each series that you want to link.

It must display the "Click to link" text on the image.

  5. Note the text and icon change that indicate the series has been linked.

  6. To deactivate Link Edit mode and return to regular navigation, click Link Series.

The series are added to the link group.

Tip

Tip:

You can also add a series to an auto link group by increasing the number of degrees for the coplanarity allowance.
