Linking series automatically

In Auto Link mode, IMPAX automatically links all coplanar series within a single study. More specifically, it links all series from the same study that are coplanar to the active series. It cannot link series from two or more different studies. IMPAX connects the series by the table position of the patient, which is recorded with the images. As a result, all coplanar series are aligned at the same anatomy as you navigate through a series.

You can modify the set of linked series, called the link group, with the following tasks.

To link series automatically

  1. From the Image area context or top toolbar, right-click Link Series. Link Series by Table Position

  2. From the Link Preferences menu, select Auto Link.

  3. To change the allowance for an off-axis series to be considered coplanar to the active series, select Include series within and enter the maximum allowance, in degrees.

Refer to Specifying the allowance for linking off-axis series for more information.

  4. To have window leveling changes apply to all linked series, enable window leveling across linked series.

  5. To have zooming and panning apply to all linked series, enable zooming and panning across linked studies.

IMPAX now automatically links coplanar series for this and subsequent sessions. Seemingly coplanar series may not be automatically linked together if they have different frames of reference. Refer to Adding a series with a different frame of reference to an auto link group.

Note:

Note:

The localizer series may appear to navigate strangely. This occurs because the first series in an MR study is often the localizer series with images from the different orientations (axial, sagittal, and coronal). Linked series navigate through series of the same orientation.

To deactivate Auto Link mode

  1. Activate a different link mode.

Important!

Important!

When you leave Auto Link mode, you lose any link adjustments that you made, including those for patient movement.
