IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Reading studies > Transforming displayed images
You can publish softcopy presentation states on base IMPAX images for cases such as communicating one or more image manipulations to remote radiologists or independent PACS vendors.
To publish a softcopy presentation state
Open the study you want to create presentation states for.
Verify that the IMPAX presentation state (the base study stored in the IMPAX database) is selected.
If the image is not the IMPAX presentation state but a softcopy presentation state, note the following:
You cannot apply markup(s).
You can use the Invert, Pan, and Window Leveling tools but you cannot save the actions.
Apply presentation changes to the base study.
Transform pixel values to more meaningful values such as window leveling
Exclude the perimeters of an image to focus on key details (crop the image)
Rotate the image by 90 degree increments
If you have not made any changes to the presentation, the Save command is unavailable and you cannot publish the current presentation as a DICOM softcopy presentation state.
![]() | Note: If Compressor runs after presentation states have been created, none of the images will have any applied presentation states. |
