Cropping an image

Use the Collimate tool to crop an image of any clutter. DF and RF studies are most often cropped.

CAUTION!

CAUTION!

Changes made with the Collimate tool are not just display changes; parts of the image are actually removed. Furthermore, once Collimate changes are saved, they cannot be undone.

To crop an image

  1. From the Image area top toolbar, Markup button menu, select Collimate. Collimate

    The pointer has a rectangle shape attached to it.

  2. To enlarge or reduce the rectangle before you place it, move the mouse scroll wheel.

  3. Place the rectangle over the region to crop, then click.

  4. If required, move or resize the crop area:

    • To move the crop area, drag the center control point to a new position.

    • To resize the crop area, drag the lower-right control points to a new position.

    • To rotate the crop area, drag the large, upper-right outer control point to a new position.

  5. To crop the image, right-click.

    Parts of the image outside the rectangle are eliminated.

  6. To undo the collimate before it is saved, click the middle mouse button (or use the Undo tool).
