Adding stations in the network

All stations on the network that send or receive images must be set up in the Administration Tools using Network Management. This manager enables DICOM communication between your system and remote stations on the network.

To add stations in the network

  1. On the Setup tab, click Network Management.Network Management

  2. To set up a new station, click New. New

  3. In the AE Title field, type the AE title of the station.

    Note:

    Note:

If a new station is added with the same AE title as the server hosting the SCP, GSPS creation jobs fail, preventing the creation of presentation state objects.

  4. In the Alias field, type an alias or alternate name for the station.

  5. In the Host field, type the host name (or IP address) for the station.

Ensure that you use a valid host name. For example, if you are adding ddo_store, use the correct host name for the station running ddo_store.

  6. If required, modify the default values of the additional station information fields: Port, Packet Size, Read Timeout, Connect Timeout, and Telerad Station.

  7. Switch to the Capabilities tab.

  8. Select the type of station this is: Acquisition Station, Review Station, PACS, HIS/RIS, or Other.

  9. Define the communication settings for the station.

  10. Click Save. Save

Note:

Note:

If your system is installed on Solaris (AS3000), ensure that the IP address of the new station is properly configured in all /etc/hosts files. If the hosts file is not updated, some jobs may not be retrievable to the station. For example, any archives set up as query/retrieve destinations for the station must have the correct /etc/hosts file.
