When adding a station, define its send and receive capabilities with the Server, including DICOM validation. Communication across clusters is defined separately.
To define types of communication between stations and the server
On the Setup tab, click Network Management.
Set up a new station and define its attributes.

From the list at the bottom of the manager, select the station to define.
Switch to the Capabilities tab.
Select the correct station type: Acquisition Station, Review Station, PACS, HIS/RIS, or Other.
Under Server is Allowed to, select or clear the appropriate checkboxes to define the types of interactions allowed by the server.
Checkbox When selected Transmit to Station The Server can transmit studies to the selected station. Query/Retrieve from Station The Server can query the selected station and retrieve studies from it. Query Station for User Information The Server can verify users by user ID and password. The password and user ID must match the information set up on the server. If the Transmit to Station checkbox is selected, select or clear the appropriate checkboxes to define what type of transmissions are permitted.
Checkbox When selected Send Key Images Only When the station requests a study, send only the key images and associated C/GSPS and KOSD DICOM objects. Send Multiframe The Server can transmit multiframe images such as ultrasound to the station. Send Storage Commit
The server issues a DICOM Storage Commit after the images are transmitted. Select this checkbox to ensure proper auditing of images.
By default, the storage commit destination is configured to be the same destination as the image storage service. If the storage commit destination differs, select the appropriate storage commit destination from the list.
Not all systems support Storage Commit.
If the Query/Retrieve from Station checkbox is selected, clear the Support Series Level Queries (Hierarchical only) checkbox only if the remote station does not support relational queries and does not support series-level queries (that is, if the station is not DICOM-compliant and only supports hierarchical queries). If such a station is queried with the checkbox selected, the query will fail.
In all other cases, leave the checkbox selected (as it is by default).
Under Station is Allowed to, select or clear the appropriate checkboxes to define the types of interactions allowed by the station.
Checkbox When selected Transmit to Server The selected station can transmit studies to the Server. Query Server for All Studies The selected station can query for studies from the Server. If the Query Server for All Studies checkbox is selected, select or clear the appropriate checkboxes to define the type of queries that are permitted.
Checkbox When selected Query Server for Cached Studies The selected station can query the server for images located in cache only. When cleared, the station can query for archived as well as cached studies. Retrieve from Server
The selected station can perform C-FIND and C-MOVE queries on the Server to request and retrieve studies.
CAUTION!
Do not add the internal cluster’s SCP as a C-FIND destination. Doing so will cause queries to fail.
To set all communications between IMPAX and the selected station to use only LEI (Little Endian Implicit), select the Send/Receive LEI Only checkbox.
By specifying LEI, all image data is uncompressed both to and from IMPAX. By default, this switch is disabled after adding a station.
Click Save.
