All stations on the network that send or receive images must be set up in the Administration Tools using Network Management. This manager enables DICOM communication between your system and remote stations on the network.
![]() | Note: Local refers to the computer where you are running the Administration Tools. Remote refers to any station that can be accessed over the network. |
Network Management must list all of the following types of stations before the stations can interact with the system using the Administration Tools. These include:
Acquisition Stations (stations that send images to the system)
Review Stations (stations that request images from system)
Remote PACS systems that send images to the cluster
Stations that support DICOM interaction with the HIS/RIS, such as Connectivity Manager
Other station types that output images, such as DICOM printers
Each station configured in Network Management has settings that identify the capabilities of the station.
![]() | Note: Do not add Application Servers as a station. The IMPAX Server identifies an Application Server host by checking that the Application Server host does not exist as a station. Once the IMPAX Server has identified the Application Server host it opens the appropriate ports for their communication. |
