When the system receives an image, it analyzes information or fields in the study header to perform operations on the study—such as flipping images to a preferred orientation. This is referred to as field mapping, because it involves associating study attributes (fields) with a particular expression.
These field mappings are applied to the study before HIS verification, automatic archiving, and routing rules are applied.
Various field mappings are provided by default. When necessary for a particular modality or RIS, you can create customized field mappings or even modify the default mappings. Syntax instructions are available in List of field mapping grammar functions.
![]() | CAUTION! Modifying the default mappings may cause incorrect data to be recorded in the system. Before making a change to the field mappings, contact your service representative for assistance. |
