Customizing field mappings to extract information from images

When the system receives an image, it analyzes information or fields in the study header to perform operations on the study—such as flipping images to a preferred orientation. This is referred to as field mapping, because it involves associating study attributes (fields) with a particular expression.

These field mappings are applied to the study before HIS verification, automatic archiving, and routing rules are applied.

Various field mappings are provided by default. When necessary for a particular modality or RIS, you can create customized field mappings or even modify the default mappings. Syntax instructions are available in List of field mapping grammar functions.

CAUTION!

CAUTION!

Modifying the default mappings may cause incorrect data to be recorded in the system. Before making a change to the field mappings, contact your service representative for assistance.
