Automatically archiving incoming images

You can automatically route studies generated by a particular modality to the archive automatically. Depending on the configuration of your system, you may be given a choice of stations to automatically archive to.

To automatically archive incoming images

  1. On the Setup tab, click Source Manager. Source Manager

  2. Switch to the Other tab.

  3. From the list at the bottom, select the acquisition station to configure.

  4. To automatically route all images generated by this modality to the archive, under Automatically Archive Incoming Images, select the checkbox beside the archive server name.

    or

To only route images from the modality to the destinations configured in the Routing Manager without archiving them, under Automatically Archive Incoming Images, clear the checkbox beside the archive server name.

    CAUTION!

    CAUTION!

For the DEFAULT station, always select the Automatically archive incoming images option. If alternative routings are not set up for the DEFAULT station, new modalities inheriting the DEFAULT settings will not route to the archive, causing studies to be lost.

When Automatically Archive Incoming Images is selected, images are archived according to the rules set in the Autopilot Manager. Otherwise, images are just routed.

Tip

Tip:

If more than one archive exists within a single cluster, you can set up one archive as a backup. For each modality that generates images into the system, select the Automatically Archive Incoming Images checkbox for both archives. All images that are sent into the system are archived to both archive units and you can decide which is the backup and which is the working archive.
