Image wizards: Clinical applications

Image wizards are a saved set of Image area actions that can be applied on study display or through a tool, keyboard shortcut, or jog shuttle option. (In many other applications, the equivalent of an image wizard is called a macro.) By automating a set of required Image area actions, image wizards can increase workflow efficiency.

Some image wizards, called system or preconfigured wizards, are shipped with IMPAX. To use these, you just have to enable them. (Some are enabled by default.)

If this set of wizards does not suffice, however, you can create more. The easiest way is to plan and then record the exact set of Image area actions to be saved for future use. Alternatively, you can fully define image wizards in a dialog. Over 50 Image area actions can be included in an image wizard.

If an existing wizard does most of what you want, you can copy and modify it for another workflow. Users can also import and export wizards.

Tip

Tip:

IMPAX also includes functionality to create and use List area wizards based on Visual Basic (VB) .NET scripts. These scripting wizards can perform a range of actions, such as finding particular studies and cycling them into the Image area, or launching an external application. Refer to Wizards: Applications and examples.
