Use the Break Out Gated Series tool to view the same point in the heart cycle through time in NM studies. For example, if you activate this tool and click the fifth image in the cardiac cycle of a cardiac gated study, all images that show the same part of the heartbeat as the fifth image are broken out into a new series.
 | Note: The Break Out Gated Series tool works only on NM studies in which all images contain the following DICOM tags: frame_increment_pointer, number_of_frames, and time_slot_vector. |
To break out a point of a cardiac gated study
Display an NM study that was captured while the heart was beating.
From the context or top toolbar, click Break Out Gated Series.
Or, if using the context toolbar text menu (Ctrl + right-click), select Organization > Break Out Gated Series.
Click the section of the heartbeat sequence to break out into a new series.
To create multiple breakout series, select multiple images.
When finished, right-click.
The new series is created. It appears in the Available Series palette, if displayed, and in the Image area, if the current screen format displays new series.
The new series is temporary. It is not saved when you close the patient's studies.
