Previewing composite prints

When using IMPAX's Composite Layout Print feature, you have the option of previewing the print before you send the print job. From the Preview dialog, you also have the option of saving the print as a JPEG-format file.

To preview composite prints

  1. In the Image area, open all images to include in the composite layout print.

  2. From the context or top toolbar, click Composite Layout Chooser. Composite Layout Print

    If using the context toolbar text menu (Ctrl + right-click), select StorageComposite Layout Chooser.

  3. Select or clear the Show Text Headers, Use white background for paper printing, and Include Page Number checkboxes.

    For details about these checkboxes, refer to steps 3–5 in Printing images using a composite layout.

  4. From the Layout list, select the print layout to use.

    The template updates to reflect the selected layout.

  5. If printing to a DICOM film printer, from the Printer list, select the printer to use.

  6. If printing to a DICOM film printer, from the Preset list, select the print preset to use.

  7. Fill in the template grid, as described in Printing images using a composite layout.

  8. Click Print Preview.

    Print preview uses the printable area for film printing, which may not correspond to the printable area for paper printing.

  9. To change the appearance of the print as displayed, click Close and repeat steps 7 and 8.

  10. When satisfied with the appearance of the print, in the Print Preview dialog, select one of the following options:

    Option Effect
    Print Outputs the template to film
    Paper Print Outputs the template to paper
    Save Saves the template as a JPEG-format file
  11. If printing to paper, from the Windows Print dialog, select print options and click OK.

    If saving the image, in the Save As dialog, select a directory location and file name and click Save.
