IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Managing studies using worklists > Opening studies from a worklist
You can choose to open the images for a specific study, as well as its associated textual information. When you open a study, a patient tab is added to the navigation bar at the bottom of the Image area for that study, and it remains open until you close it.
To open images for a particular study
In a List area worklist or search
results or in the Text area's Study List, next to the study, single-click Open
images. ![]()

In a worklist or search results, right-click the study and select Open images.
or
In a worklist or search results, double-click the study.
A new tab is created for the patient in the navigation bar at the bottom of the Image area, if one does not already exist, and the images are displayed. Any relevant priors are automatically opened, if configured to do so.
When the study's images are opened (or being cycled),
the Open with Images button changes to Images
being viewed.
To close the study's images but leave its associated text available
in the
Text area, click the button again.
