IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Exporting reports and images > Exporting and viewing images from CD or DVD
If you have a CD/DVD burner in your workstation, you can burn individual images, series, or studies to CD or DVD.

To burn a CD or DVD locally
To create a CD/DVD burn job, from a List area worklist, select the studies to burn. From the worklist bar menu
, select Export.

In the Image area, right-click an image or series and select Export > Export > Study, Series, Image, depending on what you want to burn.
The Selected Images option is available only when you select images with the Image Selection tool and the image you right-click is selected.
If the CD/DVD burn options are not displayed in the Export Images dialog, under Export Options, click CD/DVD.
To save the image data to the burn job, click Prepare.

The Burn Local Disc tab is displayed.
To remove any unwanted burn jobs from the list, select the burn job and click Delete.
Select the required burn job from the list. If the burn job is not displayed or has a status of PROGRESS, either wait until the screen is automatically refreshed or click Refresh.

From the Select Drive list, select the drive letter of the CD/DVD burner.
Under Media type, select the type of disc you are using.
Optionally, to organize the disc layout, click Organize.
Click Burn.
If prompted to insert another disc, do so.
The image data is burned. To close the Export Images dialog, click Close.
![]() | Note: Only non-private study comments are exported to a CD or DVD with the study. When a study is exported, it contains two study comments formats: a single string and XML. It is up to the receiver to chose which format; however, IMPAX systems prior to 6.5 and third-party PACS receive the string format from the study comments section of the DICOM header. |
