The routing phase transmits the images to a Client and also routes copies of the studies to both an IMPAX Archive and a backup IMPAX Archive, if configured.

9. The Network Gateway transmits the images to caches such as the Curator web cache, determined by the preconfigured routing rules. The images are routed as they are received, even before the study is complete.
10. Copies of the study are also routed to both an IMPAX Archive and a backup IMPAX Archive if configured in the Administration Tools.
