Creating scheduled worklists

Worklists define the workflow of the department. You can create scheduled worklists for radiologists to use in preparing for rounds, conferences, and clinics. Scheduled worklists differ from standard worklists in that you can define how often the worklist occurs, and can either have studies added to the worklist automatically based on defined criteria or manually by adding specific patients to the worklist.

To create a scheduled worklist

  1. In the List area, click Worklists.

  2. In the Worklist Library, under Scheduled Worklists, click New.

  3. In the Worklist Name field, type a name that describes the purpose of the worklist.

  4. In the Worklist Comment field, type a full description of the purpose of the worklist.

The comment appears when the user hovers over the title of the worklist, providing a more detailed description of the worklist.

  5. Ensure that the Type of Worklist is Scheduled Worklists.

  6. Optionally, on the Search tab, define and perform an advanced search to determine which studies will be displayed in the worklist.

Setting up the search criteria populates the scheduled worklist automatically (for example, all New CTs in the New CT Round), but you can also add studies to the worklist manually by adding studies to the worklist from another worklist.

  7. If required, configure the columns that appear in the worklist.

  8. Switch to the Organization tab and select a location for the worklist in the role hierarchy.

    Note:

    Note:

Remote or virtual locations within a multi-cluster site cannot be selected when choosing a location for the worklist.

  9. Switch to the Schedule tab.

  10. Click the Days the worklist should occur.

  11. Select the Protect studies in cache checkbox.

  12. Select the number from 0 to 5 of Days or Weeks to keep the studies in the image cache after the scheduled date of the worklist arrives.

Protected studies cannot be removed from the image cache to be placed in long-term storage. This ensures that all studies in a scheduled worklist are available for review without waiting for them to be retrieved.

  13. Optionally, switch to the Priority Grouping Rules tab and select the priority grouping rules.

  14. Click OK.

The worklist is added to the calendar on the Scheduled Worklists tab, recurring each week on the day or days you selected, unless it falls on a holiday you have defined for the schedule. You can also include the scheduled worklist in the At-a-Glance area or reorder the scheduled worklist to match the order of the conferences, meetings, and so on for the day.
