Translating or correcting patient and performing physician names

When the IMPAX Application Server is configured to support East Asian characters (by setting the UseMvfUtf8Fields entry in the AgfaHC.Pacs.Web.Service to true), you can provide or correct phonetic and ideographic versions of patient and performing physician names.

To translate or correct patient or performing physician names

  1. In the List area, search for the patient or the performing physician.

  2. In the search results, right-click a study and select Open Text.

  3. In the Text area, if the Study panel is contracted, click the Study bar to display it.

  4. Beside the patient or performing physician name, click Contact. Contact

The Contact button appears beside any displayed version of the names—Western European, Phonetic, and Ideographic. (If patient names or performing physician names are not displayed, customize the Study panel to add them.)

  5. In the details box, click Edit.

  6. Under Western European, Phonetic Alphabet, or Ideographic Alphabet, enter or correct the names as appropriate.

Fields available are Prefix, First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, and Suffix. You do not have to fill them all in.

  7. Click OK.

Depending on how the Study panel is customized, the translations may be displayed in the Text area. Translated patient names also appear in the Image area when you place the pointer over the name in the navigation bar.
