IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Finding studies
You can use the simple Search feature to find a specific patient.
To find patients by name
In the List area, click the Search bar to expand it.
In the Last, First Name field, type the patient's name.
In the Patient ID or Global patient ID field, type the patient's ID.
Using the * (asterisk) wildcard character at the start or middle of the name can increase the possibility of returning correct results. (Placing an asterisk at the end does not change the search results.) For example, J*N returns any patients whose name begins with J and who also contains an N in their name, such as "Jones", "Johnson", "Jeckle, Brenda", and "Jung".
From the Current Patient Location list, select any.
Optionally, choose a Date to search.
Click Search.
The search results are listed.

Search tips
You can select other search options to find patients by accession number or physician.
You can search for variations of a patient's name and list all results together.
If more than 500 studies are found, only the most recent studies are displayed. Narrow the search constraints and search again.
If you select any for the Study Date, you must also select another specific criterion to search on. Unconstrained searches are not allowed.
If you require more complex searches, contact your PACS Administrator to give you access to the Advanced Search.
