Creating preset printer properties based on modality

Once DICOM printers are configured, you can create presets for them. Presets are sets of print options that users can select and apply to particular print jobs. A print preset is meant to optimize the printed images for display on a light box. As a result, presets are associated with images from particular modalities or acquisition stations.

To create preset printer properties based on modality

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Preferences.

  2. In the navigation pane, select a user or a top-level role.

To make this a system preset, select a top-level role. Presets added to one top-level role are added to all top-level roles.

  3. In the details pane, expand the Image Area bar.

  4. Switch to the Print Presets tab.

  5. Under the list of available presets, click Add.

  6. Define the preset name, associated printer, and modality. Click Next.

  7. Select the film size and type, orientation, and format for the preset. Click Next.

  8. Select the magnification and smoothing values for the preset. Click Next.

  9. Set the density and border values for the preset. Click Next.

  10. Select the taste look up table values for the preset. Click Next.

  11. If required, assign logo files to the preset. Click Next.

  12. Optionally, add custom configuration strings to the preset.

  13. Click Finish.

The print preset becomes available for selection when printing.
