IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Administering IMPAX > Configuring printers and printing options > Defining preset printer properties for a modality > Creating preset printer properties based on modality
The resolution at which a modality scans a study image is usually smaller than the resolution at which it is printed. Magnification types (also called interpolation) are used to convert images from the modality resolution to the print resolution. This conversion affects the sharpness of the printed image.
When adding a preset or copying properties to a new preset, you can specify which available magnification and smoothing values to use. When editing a preset, you can change these values.
To specify preset magnification and smoothing options
Add a preset or select a preset to copy, enter information in the first two screens and click Next until you reach the Magnification and Smoothing screen.
