EPR integration overview

The IMPAX Client can be integrated with a hospital’s EPR system. When you access IMPAX integrated with an EPR system, instead of cycling studies from a List area worklist or searching for studies to view, you select them in the EPR system and launch them directly into the Image area. The exact method of launching the studies from the EPR system into the IMPAX Image area varies based on the integration and system used.

After the images are displayed in the Image area, you can navigate through and apply tools just as you would when using IMPAX on its own. The same license restrictions and user preferences apply. Instead of the Text area supplying study, report, and order information, however, you get that data from the EPR system.
