IMPAX 6.5.1 Server Knowledge Base home > Configuring IMPAX Server with Administration Tools
Use the Administration Tools to perform the initial configuration of the IMPAX system. The following information outlines the broad steps in the configuration workflow.
![]() | Note: Many other configurations, including user administration, are performed through the IMPAX Client. |
Launch the Administration Tools
Before you can access the Administration Tools, you must disable the proxy server for your web browser. If required, after launching the Administration Tools, change your password to maintain the security of the system.
Configure all the stations on the network
In Network Management, set up all the stations on the network that either send or receive images. Use Network Management to enable DICOM communication between your system and remote stations on the network.
Designate acquisition stations
After you have added all the stations using Network Management, identify which of those stations are acquisition stations. Use the Source Manager to determine how images from acquisition stations are identified and verified, how demographics are determined, and how images are routed.
Determine how images are routed to destinations
Use the Routing or Source Managers to determine which acquisition stations send images to which destinations.
Determine the size of the cache for each station and establish the timing for how and when images are saved and expedited from the cache.
Manage the timing for archiving studies
Use Autopilot Management to manage when studies are removed from the cache and to control study deletion.
Configure relevant prior rules
Set up rules to compare relevant prior studies with a present study in the Relevant Prior Manager.
Configure referring location prior rules
Override by location any relevant prior rules in the Relevant Prior Manager. Use these rules to limit the number of relevant priors retrieved from a certain location or to find study-based schedules for visits to the location, not exams scheduled at the location.
Define the mappings for identifiers
Specify patterns to match in the study description in the Specialty, Body Part, and Patient Location Managers.
