IMPAX 6.5.1 Server Knowledge Base home > Configuring IMPAX Server with Administration Tools > Relevant Prior Manager
You can define referring location prior rules to prefetch studies based on the visits scheduled at a location rather than studies scheduled. The relevant prior rules are still used, but you can override the maximum number of studies, maximum age of priors, and oldest relevant settings for these locations. This can be useful for limiting the number of relevant priors retrieved from a certain location, such as an external clinic, or for finding study-based schedules for visits to the location instead of exams scheduled at the location.
To create or modify relevant prior rules for referring locations
On the Setup tab, click Relevant Prior Manager.![]()
Switch to the Referring Location Prior Rules tab.
To create a new rule, click New. ![]()
or
To modify an existing rule, select it in the list of defined rules.
In the Referring Location field, type the name of the location for which the rule is being defined.
The referring location comes from either the requesting_service or current_patient_location DICOM fields in the Visit Scheduled event. If requesting_service is blank or not present, current_patient_location is used.
In the Max Number of Studies field, type the maximum number of relevant prior studies to retrieve (or leave the field blank, to use the relevant prior rules as is).
In the Max Days field, type the maximum age of relevant priors to retrieve (or leave the field blank).
The maximum age is calculated from the date of the related study, not from the current date.
To retrieve the oldest matching study, regardless of the Max Days value, select the Oldest Relevant checkbox.
Click Save. ![]()
