If given permission to do so, and if not logging in using smart card technology, you can change your Administration Tools password.
![]() | Note: In most cases, new users cannot immediately change their passwords. Password policy is normally enforced using Windows security, which requires a waiting period—often two days—before passwords can be changed. |
Select a password that is easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess. Tips for doing so:
Make the password longer, but using words that are meaningful to you. Passwords must be at least 6 characters long, and can be up to 32 characters.
Avoid obvious passwords such as your birthdate, home address, or name.
Consider including combinations of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers.
Do not include spaces in the password.
To change your Administration Tools password
In Administration Tools, select Tools > Change Password.
In the Change Password dialog, select the Domain you log into.
In the Current Password field, type your old password.
In the New Password field, type a new password.
In the Confirm password field, repeat the new password.
To complete the change, click Change Password.
The Change Password button is active only if the new password is identical in both the New Password and Confirm password fields.
