Understanding how operations are restricted by study status


When assigning operations to a permission, you can restrict the ability to perform some operations based on the status of the study. For example, you can set the Delete Image operation to work only on New studies.

Study statuses are only relevant for some operations.

Study status Description
Approved Applies to studies with approved reports. Used for many Administration Tools - Study Manager operations and many PACS Client - Study-Based operations.
Cached Applies to studies only in the cache. Used for the PACS Client - Transmit operation.
Dictated Applies to studies that have been dictated but have not been transcribed/corrected. Used for many Administration Tools - Study Manager operations and many PACS Client - Study-Based operations.
Trainee dictatedApplies to studies that have been dictated by a trainee or resident but have not been transcribed/corrected. Used for many Administration Tools - Study Manager operations and many PACS Client - Study-Based operations.
Dictation startedApplies to studies which have started dictation but whose reports have been paused. This study status is unavailable when editing an existing report or creating a report addendum.
Trainee dictation startedApplies to studies which have started trainee/resident dictation but whose reports have been paused. This study status is unavailable when editing an existing report or creating a report addendum.
New Applies to studies that have not been dictated (including those for which dictation or trainee dictation has started). Used for many Administration Tools - Study Manager operations and many PACS Client - Study-Based operations.
Reported Applies to studies for which a preliminary report is available, meaning that the report has not approved. Used for many Administration Tools - Study Manager operations and many PACS Client - Study-Based operations.
Study is Open (PACS Client) or Open (Administration Tools) Applies to studies that are new but are still being acquired. Used for many Administration Tools - Study Manager operations and some PACS Client - Study-Based operations.
