Compressing web services communication on the Client for improved performance

By compressing the communication with the Application Server, you can significantly improve the performance of the IMPAX Client. By default, compression is enabled. Compression must also be enabled on the Application Server for this setting to take effect. Refer to "Compressing web services communication on the Application Server for improved performance" (topic number 11406) in the IMPAX 6.5.1 Application Server Knowledge Base.

For lower-end stations, having compression enabled actually decreases performance.

To compress web services communication on the Client for improved performance

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Stations.

    or

    Or, from the List area bar, click the User ID menu Configure drawer menu and select Station Configuration.

  2. If in the Configure area, in the navigation pane, select a single station or station container to change all stations within that container.

  3. In the details pane, expand the General bar.

  4. Switch to the Performance tab.

  5. Select the Compress Communication with the Application Server checkbox.

    The changes are saved automatically when you switch context.
