IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Troubleshooting IMPAX Client > Logging system activity
The IMPAX Client has eight types of log files that record events. When troubleshooting, you can increase the level of logging for some of the logs for a specific stations or group of stations in one of the station containers. The log files are located in the %PUBLIC%\Impax\Logs directory.
To set Client log levels
From the Configure drawer menu
, select Stations.
or
Or, from the List area bar, click the User ID menu
and select Station Configuration.
If in the Configure area, in the navigation pane, select a single station or station container to change all stations within that container.
In the details pane, expand the General bar.
Switch to the Logging tab.
Select a Log Level for the client.log and image_client.log files:
Error—records error log messages.
Info—records error and information log messages.
Debug—recommended only when troubleshooting. Creates detailed log files. When in debug mode, Client performance can become very slow, particularly if Antivirus software is set to “on access” scanning.
Select a Timing Log Level for the image_client_timing log file:
None—turns logging off. This is the default setting.
Info—records only information log messages about timing.
Debug—recommended only when troubleshooting timing problems. Creates detailed log files. When in debug mode, Client performance can become very slow.
If in the Configure area, the changes are saved automatically when you switch context.
or
Or, if in the Station configure dialog, click OK.
