Interpreting different types of studies requires that different types of image manipulations be applied. For example, you are more likely to apply color palettes to NM studies than other types of studies. Playing images in a cine makes more sense for studies that typically contain many images in each series, such as US, NM, and MR. And so on. As a result, IMPAX is designed such that available tools can vary for studies from different modalities.
You must decide how fine a distinction is required in tool availability. You can define tools just by modality, or by modality and body part; for example, CT Head studies could have a different configuration than CT Chest. If always defining tools by modality only, you can disable the body part setting.
