Defining keyboard shortcuts

When authenticating with a smart card, impersonation is not available.

Use the Keyboard tab of the Customize dialog to create custom keyboard shortcuts for the Image area.

To define keyboard shortcuts

  1. If setting preferences for other users, impersonate the user or role.

  2. Press F12 or, from the Image area top toolbar, click Customize.

  3. In the Customize dialog, switch to the Keyboard tab.

  4. Click New.

  5. In the Keyboard dialog, from the Key list, select the key to use as a shortcut.

Listed keys are based on the keyboard layout selected in Windows for this workstation. Almost any keyboard key can have an action associated with it, with the exception of some reserved keyboard shortcuts.

    Note:

    Note:

We do not recommend customizing any of the default keyboard shortcuts.

  6. If necessary, select the checkboxes of any modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl, or Alt) to include as part of the shortcut.

  7. Select the Action to be performed by the keyboard shortcut.

  8. If necessary, select the extra parameters required to complete the action.

For example, if Adjust Window Level is selected, you also have to define the Window Width and Window Center values.

  9. Click OK.

  10. To create other keyboard shortcuts, repeat steps 4–9.

  11. To edit keyboard shortcuts, select them in the Key list, click Edit, and make any needed changes.

  12. To delete keyboard shortcuts, select them in the Key list, and click Remove.

  13. To save the changes and close the Customize dialog, click OK.

Note:

Note:

Keyboard shortcuts cannot be assigned to image wizards or hanging protocols that have backslash (\) characters in their name. Before trying to assign keyboard shortcuts to such items, rename them, excluding the backslash character from the new name.
