When defining keyboard shortcuts for the Image area, some key functionality cannot be overwritten. Other keys cannot be used in certain combinations. The reserved keyboard shortcuts are listed below:

| F1 | Displays the IMPAX Client Knowledge Base. |
| F12 | Opens the Customize dialog. |
Page Down |
When not in Zoom mode, navigates forward through the study images. When in Zoom mode, magnifies the image. |
Page Up |
When not in Zoom mode, navigates backward through the study images. When in Zoom mode, reduces the image. |
| Print Screen | Creates a screen capture of the entire screen. |
| Alt + Print Screen | Creates a screen capture of the active window. |
| Alt + Esc | Cycles through windows in the order they were opened. |
| Alt + Tab | Switches between open windows. |
| Ctrl + Esc | Displays the Windows Start menu. |
