IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Finding studies > Finding studies using Advanced Search

Selecting a location to search

In both the Simple and Advanced Search, or when finding teaching files or creating worklists, you can search for studies in a specific location or on a specific system. For example, you can search a CD-ROM that contains prior studies a patient had taken at a clinic.

To select a location to search

  1. Click the Location arrow. Search locations

  2. Select the location to search:

    • To search a specific drive or CD-ROM on your computer, select the checkbox next to the drop-down list. From the list, select the specific drive or CD-ROM to search.

    • To search another area or system, click the button next to it in the list.

The default location is System, which is the local IMPAX cluster. Other locations must first be enabled for both multiple IMPAX clusters and single IMPAX clusters clusters. Searches in multiple IMPAX clusters are automatically expanded to include all records matching the global patient ID in addition to any search constraints.

  3. When complete, click the Location arrow again to close the list.

The location you selected is remembered when you close IMPAX.
