Selecting the locations available for searches

By default, both Simple and Advanced searches look in the local IMPAX cluster. However, for both, users can select which locations to search. In the configure area, you can enable and disable the locations users are allowed to search for studies. These locations are defined in the Administration Tools, Network Management Manager. For further information, refer to "Adding stations in the network" (topic number 8986)and "Defining types of communication between stations and the server" (topic number 9000) in the Administration Tools component of the IMPAX 6.5.1 Server Knowledge Base

Search locations are non-merged preferences. For example, the Radiology role contains the Technologists role. If the Radiology role has search locations defined but the Technologists role does not, then the Technologists role inherits the Radiology role search locations. If you change a search location for the Technologists role, the other Radiologist search locations no longer apply to the Technologists role.
