Viewing restricted studies

In an emergency situation, clinicians, radiologists, or technologists may need access to studies that would otherwise be restricted. For example, the study of a celebrity would normally be available to only a specific clinician and radiologist. But, in an emergency situation, others need immediate access to that study. If you have emergency access permissions, and a worklist contains a restricted study, the lock icon Display restricted studies is displayed in the worklist bar.

Note:

Note:

Access to restricted studies is audited so that hospital administrators can track people who improperly access studies of celebrities, other hospital staff, and so on.

To view restricted studies

  1. In the worklist bar, click the lock. Display restricted studies

  2. In the Emergency Access dialog, type a reason for the access.

  3. Click OK.

The lock icons disappears and the restricted studies are now displayed in the worklist.

  4. Open the restricted study.

If another restricted study becomes available, the lock reappears in the worklist bar, and you must click it again to see the study.
