Troubleshooting: A deleted role has reappeared

Issue

A deleted role has reappeared in the role hierarchy.

Details

If you have the Configure area open for an extended time, other administrators may have made changes to the role hierarchy. Therefore, you could be working on an outdated copy of the hierarchy. The deleted role is re-created when trying to complete the following actions on roles that have been deleted by another administrator:

Solution

  1. Refresh the role hierarchy.

  2. Determine whether the role is still required and then delete the role if it is not.
