Selecting print options in the Export Images dialog

When printing to film, you have to select certain options, such as whether to print the images in color or grayscale, whether to print scouts, and what film size and orientation options to use.

To select print options in the Export Images dialog

  1. Open the Export Images dialog from a worklist or from the Image area.

  2. If the Print options are not displayed in the Export Images dialog, under Export Options, click Print.

  3. If the selected images are a mix of color and grayscale and you want to print the color images on a color printer and the grayscale images on a grayscale printer, under Color of Selection, select Send color and grayscale print jobs to different printers. Otherwise, select Send all Images to color printer or Send all Images to grayscale printer.

If all images are grayscale or all images are color, the Color of Selection options are disabled.

  4. Under Grayscale or Color or both (if splitting the job), select the following:

    1. From the Printer list, select the printer to use.

    2. From the Preset list, select the print preset to use. Presets define which Orientation, Film Size, and Format options are available for selection.

    3. From the Orientation list, select the print orientation, such as Portrait or Landscape.

    4. From the Film Size list, select the page size to use, such as 8" by 10" or A4.

    5. From the Format list, select how the images should be arranged in rows and columns on each printed page. For example, Standard - 4,1 prints images in four rows by one column.

  5. If you do not want to print scouts, clear the Print Scout checkbox.

If Print Scout is selected and the study includes a scout, the scout is the first image printed.

  6. To print page numbers on all pages, select the Include Page Number checkbox.

  7. Type or select the Number of Copies to print.

  8. Click OK.

The print job is submitted to the selected printer or printers.

Note:

Note:

In MR studies, scouts do not explicitly exist. If printing an MR study with multiple series, however, the Print Scout option prints an image from the orthogonal view in which the “scout” lines represent the corresponding slices taken perpendicular to this view. The printed image is usually a middle image that provides the greatest representation of the examined anatomy.
