Suspending a TalkStation dictation

If you are interrupted while dictating a report in TalkStation and have to view another patient's studies, IMPAX handles the change in a way that prevents you from losing work, while ensuring that reports for two different patients do not accidentally get combined.

To suspend a TalkStation dictation

  1. For the current report, select or say Stop Dictation in command mode.

  2. In the Image area, set aside the current patient.

  3. Open or navigate to the other patient's studies.

The Dictate Study button changes to Dictate study, indicating that TalkStation and IMPAX are no longer in sync.

  4. From the top toolbar, click Dictate Study. Dictate study

TalkStation loads the accession number for the new patient. The Dictate Study button changes to Dictating in TalkStation state. Dictation in progress

  5. To create a report for the new patient, press Record on the SpeechMike or equivalent device.

Note:

Note:

You can switch to another study for the same patient, and continue dictation on the same order. It is only when changing patients that you must begin a new dictation.
