Creating routing constraints for advanced routing rules

Add routing constraints when creating or modifying advanced routing rules. You can apply more than one constraint for each routing rule.

The Network Gateway can route studies from a particular modality to stations connected to the network based on one (or a combination) of Patient or Study attributes.

To create routing constraints for advanced routing rules

  1. In Source Manager, create a routing rule and click Save, or select the existing routing rule to modify.

  2. Click Add.

  3. In the New routing constraints dialog, from the Attribute Type list, select the attribute type: Patient or Study.

  4. From the Attribute Name list, select the name of the attribute.

For patient, the options are Patient Birth Date and Current Patient Location. For study, many options are available, such Acquiring Station Name, Body Part, and Radiology Specialty.

  5. From the Constraint Type list, select the constraint used to check the attribute: Older than, Younger than, Equal to, Begins with, Ends with, Contains, or Not Equal to.

  6. In the Constraint Value field, type or select the constraint.

Values vary based on the constraint type that you select. For example, for Current Patient Location Ends With, ED could be the value. Or for Study Priority ID Equals, 2 could be the value.

  7. Click OK.
