Additional constraints for advanced routing rules: Reference

The following constraint types are used when creating routing constraints.

Note:

Note:

A wildcard represents unknown or variable information.

Constraint type Description
Older than

Route studies for patients who were born before a specified date; for example, to separate pediatric and non-pediatric patients.

Younger than

Route studies for patients who were born after a specified date; for example, to separate geriatric and non-geriatric patients.

Equal to Route studies when the constraint value matches the routing value exactly.

For example, if the constraint is 'Current Patient Location equal to ORTHO,' studies are routed only to locations that exactly match ORTHO.

Begins with Route studies when the constraint value matches the beginning of the routing value. Used to group similar constraint values, or in place of wildcards.

For example, if the constraint is 'Current Patient Location begins with ORTHO,' studies are routed to locations ORTHO:ER, ORTHO:ICU, and so on.

Ends with Route studies when the constraint value matches the end of the routing value. Used to group similar constraint values, or in place of wildcards.

For example, if the constraint is 'Current Patient Location ends with ER,' studies are routed to locations ORTHO:ER, TRAUMA:ER, and so on.

Contains Route studies when the constraint value matches any part of the routing value. Used to group similar constraint values, or in place of wildcards.

For example, if the constraint is 'Current Patient Location contains ER,' studies are routed to locations ORTHO:ER, ER-PEDS, and so on.

Not Equal to Route studies when the constraint value does not match any part of the routing value.

Use to group similar constraint values, or in place of wildcards.

For example, if the constraint is 'Current Patient Location not equal to ER,' studies are routed to locations PEDS, ICU, and so on.
