Use the Merge Values feature to merge duplicate physician names into one physician name.
Physician names may be stored in multiple formats within the database, but actually represent the same physician. For example, the following names in the database could all represent the same physician:
Smith, John
Smith, J.
Smith, John, Jr.
Smith, Jonathan
Smith, Jon
To reduce confusion, you may want to merge these names so that only one name is used within the database. You can merge values into an existing name or a new name.

To merge physician names
On the Daily tab, lick Study Manager.![]()
Click Merge Values Tool. ![]()
From the list of value types, select Referring Physician or Performing Physician.
From the Available Values list, select the values to merge and click >.
To select multiple values, hold down the Ctrl key when clicking other values.
To merge the selected values into an existing name, from the Merge These Values list, select the name and click >.
or
To merge the selected values into a new name, under Merge Values To, type the last name, first name, middle name, prefix (if applicable), and suffix (if applicable).
Click Merge Values. ![]()
Click OK.
