STAT or emergency studies must be reported on as quickly as possible. In such cases, a technologist may enter STAT or TEMP as the accession number for the study.
When an incoming study has an accession number of STAT or TEMP, the IMPAX SCP adds xx to the start of the patient identifier. The xx indicates that HIS verification is to be skipped, regardless of the configuration in the Administration Tools Source Manager.
As well, a study that has failed HIS verification and has an accession number of 9999 is also considered to be a STAT study. In these cases, the IMPAX SCP resets the Date / Time verified value to 0 and adds xx to the start of the patient identifier, so it appears that HIS verification was never attempted for this study.
In these ways, the studies become available in radiologists worklists more quickly, particularly in cases where configuration does not allow users to view studies that have failed HIS verification.
The studies can later be HIS verified by using the Fix Up tools in the Administration Tools or the IMPAX Client.
