The following table summarizes the configurations to perform before linking one cluster to another in a multiple IMPAX cluster configuration.
| Area to configure | Summary of tasks |
|---|---|
| Host tables | Host tables on all IMPAX Clients, IMPAX Servers, Connectivity Managers, and modalities must match. |
| Sources |
|
| Network devices |
|
| Body Part Manager | For a consistent presentation of data, Body Part Managers across the cluster must contain the same entries. |
| Specialty Mappings | For a consistent presentation of data, Specialty Mappings across the cluster must contain the same entries. |
| Report sources | To improve the workflow when using a central report repository, a default report source can be defined in the IMPAX Business Services (installed on the Application Server). |
| Institution and department names | The station_name must be unique across all clusters. |
| Demographic layouts | To ensure that the look of studies is the same throughout the linked cluster, set the demographic layouts for each source to be the same throughout all linked clusters for both printing and displaying. |
| Prefetching rules | If prefetching rules differ between clusters, users will get different relevant priors at different sites. |
Also ensure that all Connectivity Manager servers used are correctly configured at each site.
When clusters are linked, enterprise search locations can be defined in the IMPAX Client Configure area. These locations can then be added to the Enterprise search option as appropriate. As well, users can select whether or not the enterprise is searched when the Text area is opened.
