Automatically derived values from HIS verification
When repairing studies that have been split out of a study, IMPAX derives the following patient and study attributes automatically by performing fixup (HIS verification) using data available from the HIS or RIS:
Patient ID, name, birth date, and sex
Other patient IDs
Current patient location
Study instance UID
Requested procedure ID and code
Study description, date, and time
Referring, requesting, and performing physician
Requesting service
Station name—When split, the station name is taken from the series. If the attribute is NULL, HIS verification provides it during fixup.
Military rank and branch of service
Study status ID
Study comments
Additional patient history—The original study takes what was in the field and the new study is NULL when first split and then is populated during fixup if the HIS has information.
Reason for study
Calculated or automatically derived attribute values
The following attributes are calculated or are automatically derived:
Patient age—Calculated if the study date changes.
Study date and time—Copied from the study series.
Specialty and body part—Determined based on study description, which may be updated during HIS verification.
Station name—When split, the station name is taken from the series. If the attribute is NULL, HIS verification provides it during fixup.
Modality—Calculated from the most common value in the series.
