Copying study access rules within a permission

You can copy and paste study access rules within a permission or into a linked copy of that permission elsewhere in the role hierarchy, which creates a true copy of the rule instead of creating a linked copy. This is useful if you want to use a study access rule as a template that you can copy, rename, and edit. For example, you can copy "study access rule 1" from St. Mary's to Paediatrics as a true copy:

St. Mary's -- permission 1 with study access rule 1

    Radiology -- permission 1 + permission 2

        Paediatrics -- permission 1 + permission 2 + permission 3 with copy of study access rule 1

To copy a study access rule within a permission

  1. Navigate to the permission.

  2. In the With access to studies from list, right-click the study access rule and select Copy.

  3. In the same permission in the same role, or in a linked copy of the permission in another role, in the With access to studies from list, right-click and select Paste.

A copy of the study access rule is created.

  4. Rename the rule and make edits.

  5. When the edits are completed, click OK.
